If I was expecting the space or opulence of the Captain’s Quarters, I would have been disappointed. Arrow’s room is not much bigger than the small bed that occupies it, and contains no other furniture but a tiny desk, with a small cupboard built beneath it.

‘Shut the door,’ Jon orders.

I do so, and when I turn back, he is glaring at me with his hands on his hips. ‘I want you, Will.’ He clenches his jaw. ‘I want you more than I have ever wanted another man. I want you now.‘

I drink in his features once again. I cannot believe this beautiful man wants me so much. ‘I want you, too,’ I reply.

Jon rushes to me and takes my face in his hands, gazing deeply into my eyes. He slides his hands into my brown hair, and his fingers tighten around my locks as he pulls my face towards his. His mouth descends onto mine, and he kisses me roughly, hungrily, working his lips and his tongue with his pent-up need. He smells of the sea. Pressed together, our stiff – touch each other through our breeches, and I groan into Jon’s mouth.

‘I want you. Now,’ I say.

Jon moans too, as he hears his own words spoken back to him. He pulls away from me and tears his shirt over his head, discarding it on the bed. I follow behind, pulling my shirt off in a rush and throwing it atop Jon’s. We both take a moment to appreciate each other. Jon is panting, his eyes wide with desire. He has a beautiful body, lithe and lean, with wide shoulders, a rippling stomach and unblemished pale skin. I am taller, darker, thicker.

He smiles. It is perfect, like him.
